Buenas dias!!!
Thanks for the dearelders! Can I just say I'm so jealous about the Bees game thing... I LOVE the sandlot. Except Benny wasn't there, so I guess that's okay. I'll just start with the little things I need to address. And I would also love for someone to send me a few pictures. For sure a family one. And yes I did get the cookies, and I'm still working on them! Haha thanks for the packages, and yes i got the socks, and they were much needed so thanks!! And the hat is cute :) And they sell carry ons here at the book store, so I could just buy one here?? We are not allowed off campus ever, so that won't work. haha But the things I wish I did have, were another blanket, and another pillow... But I don't think that will work!! No suitcase space!!! I hate not having a million pillows and blankets. but its okay :) That's super cool that you got to see the Hagues :) Sounds like you all are having a great time!

The spanish is coming along nicely! However my verbs are hardly ever conjugated right when speaking, and we learn so much every day, and the concepts are getting harder each time, so it's getting a little hard to retain it all and put them all to use!! But I'm learning pretty fast. Right now we are teaching two investigators: Maria, and Isaac. Yesterday we taught Isaac, and it went well! We taught him part of the plan of salvation, and focused a lot on the Atonement. He critiqued us afterwards, which was nice, and he said that our spanish is good, and that we teach and prepare really well, and the spirit is there. The only issue was that our questions can be much better, to dig deeper and know him and his needs better, and that we should have invited him to baptism again, because the time was right. He basically gave us bait when he expressed his feelings about Christ. It was a good learning experience for me, to be more in tune with the spirit, and recognize those opportunities.
This week has gone by so fast, I feel like we just had p-day!! We are now in a zone with all elders, and just us four Hermanas. The other hermanas want more to come it, but hey,  I don't mind it one bit! It's really fun, and great to see and experience the love and bonding of everyone in such a short amount of time. When we said bye to the last district, it was really hard. We got pretty close with Hermana Page. She would come into our bedroom every night and tell us hilarious stories. I never laugh as hard as I did when she told us stories. I was literally on the floor laughing.. We definitely miss that!! But it's so great that everyone is going off to their different places to serve the Lord. It's really sad that we can't go to the temple on p-days.. it's closed for the whole time we are here basically.. That's one thing I really miss, is going to the temple. My advice to anyone who can, GO!! I'm so jealous! I want to hear from Lexie too! Tell her to write me!! Thank you Holly for the letter!! I love hearing how everyone is doing. But hey, I'm almost out of time. I love you all so much and thank you for all the support! The church is true and God loves us all sooo much!! I am so grateful for his spirit and comfort during my mission. Keep excercising your faith every day!! Live every day to it's fullest, and always find something to be grateful for. There are tender mercies all over, and the Lord loves us and wants us to come unto him and use His wonderful gifts!!! MUCH LOVE!! :)

Week 2  MTC

Hello family!!
Thanks mom and Ash for sending me dearelders. They made my day. They really are the best to get here, because then you get a little lovin' from home during the week, and not just on Thursday. And I can look back on them when I'm feeling down or something. Okay, first to answer your questions mom: My companion is from Orem and could basically just run home from here if she wanted to. Haha. We have lots of fun together. Sometimes we get really sidetracked and are not focused because we just laugh and tell stories.
And yes, Elder Barth is Simon. We're basically BFFs now. Haha. But the language is getting better each day, slowly but surely. We are supposed to speak it all the time, and say whatever we know how to say in Spanish. I need to get better at that.. But our study time is pretty spaced out. We have class/ teaching investigators, an hour of personal study, which is in English, and focused on the needs of our investigator, then an hour of companion study where we come together telling about our personal study and plan a lesson, an hour of language study, and some additional study time for whatever. It's just a lot!!! If we stay focused and study hard, it goes by way fast.

The food here isn't toooo bad! Yeah I get gassy.. but then again I don't eat very healthy at all. When they serve brownies, it's bad news for me.. I eat like two or three.. MMmmm.

We started teaching two new investigators this week (they are really our teachers) named Isaac and one named Maria. So we have to plan a new lesson each day, switching off between the two. Keeps us busy for sure!! It is very important to use our personal study time to find things that will help them. To receive revelation for them. That's one thing I am learning how to do. The spirit is an amazing tool, and is what makes missionary work possible. We would all be failures without it. It's just a matter of putting in the effort! I haven't really been working as hard as I know I can up until this point, but Tuesday night changed that! We had our Tuesday night devotional, and then after that we had a district meeting, where sister and brother Doman talked to us. One thing that hit me hard was that the second my suitcase hit the MTC sidewalk, my mission time clock started ticking. I need to live up every moment, and not live with regrets. I don't want to return wishing I did something differently. I want to be 100% happy with how I did and know that I did all I can do for my investigators and bringing others unto Christ.

When we first got here, people said to just make it until the first Sunday. That was kind of true for me, but honestly it took me a good week. This week has been going by much faster and I am learning so much. The first week, they kind of just let us do whatever we want, and teach however, not really explaining how things should be done. But we have now learned how to plan our studies, know what to study, how to manage stress and things like that. Why didn't they just tell us that at the beginning?! It's probably because people wouldnt' have listened then. It's a pretty humbling experience, and I still have so much to learn. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what to study and stuff. It's hard for me not to just sit down and read the scriptures for me, but we were told yesterday that everything we do on our missions, focusing on our investigators, is ultimately for us as well. It builds our testimonies and helps our conversion to Christ as well. Being converted to Christ and having a testimony are two different things. If we are converted to Christ, we will never fall away. When we are completely converted to Christ, we look outward, and not inward. That was a huge wake up call for me, and I have so much room to improve!!! Well I don't have any more time, but i'll send you all a letter too if i think of more to say!! I'll actually send pictures this time too. Just a little later today!! I LOVE YOU ALL :) keep CTRing and working hard!!! The church is true and God loves you!! Show you love him back by loving others :) Have a great week!!!

MOMMY!!
Haha it's about time that you heard from me right?? Our p-days are on Thursdays, and that's the only day I can write letters and email. But after this I'll send you guys a letter probably. I wrote you one on the first night, but never got around to sending it. I have seen so many people I know here, it's crazy. I have a huge list. I'll send you the list in a letter or something. But the first day here was pretty good. Nothing too overwhelming, until the second and third days... We had to teach an investigator on Friday in spanish, and it was the scariest thing ever. It's still scary each day we do it, but it's getting better. Just need to use small words and phrases that I remember, and not use my notes and try as hard as I can to speak by the spirit... I still feel very inadaquate. But it's okay. It's been a great experience seeing so many people I know, and all the hundreds of missionaries so ready to serve the Lord. I have gotten pretty close with some people in my district. My companion's name is Hermana Carlson. We seriously have so much in common, it's crazy. We started out not talking much, but we are becoming better friends each day. We laugh at the same things, and seriously just bust up laughing several times a day. Everyone in our district thinks we are crazy. But there is one Elder that is our zone leader, that is the most feminine hilarious man around. I don't have a picture with him yet, but I'll send you one once I get it. Not all the computers are able to send pictures, so when I get to one, I'll send you the ones I have!! But yesterday I was really sad because the four elders in our district that are going to Columbia are leaving us on Monday for the Columbia MTC. They are the ones that I have gotten the closest with. I'm trying to be selfless and just be happy for them though. But it could be a miracle in and of itself because one of those elders has been struggling with anxiety in a very physically painfully way, and doesn't eat and stuff. But each day something comes up that makes him stay longer. Tuesday night he decided he's going home for sure, and then yesterday they received that news that they could go to Columbia. So now he is rethinking it all over again. I really hope he stays out! He's such a great guy that would do so well out in the field. In our district we have me and Hermana Carlson, Hermanas Woodfield and Rasband, Elders Hicken and Nordhagen (one that I have gotten very close to and it seems like we have been friends for years, and we have a mutual friend, David Ju), Elders Nail and Anderson (so funny), Elders Thiriot (very cute and wants to write Ashlynn hahaha) and Jensen, and Elders Cloward and Olsen. I don't think the other Hermanas like me and my companion very much, but it's okay.
So i would love to get dearelders from people, because then I could be getting mail on days other than Thursday. Just go to dearelder.com! Things that I need are some more socks.. I run out like crazy. Maybe a few more pairs of the small ones for flats, and another athletic pair. I also need a pair of gym shorts, but they may have some at the bookstore, I haven't looked yet. I can't think of anything else right now, but i'll let you know!!
The days are starting to fly. The first few days were so slow though. But before I know it, my time here will be up!! But I love you guys so much and am praying for you!! Hope all is well at home. Stay busy and have fun while theyre at trek!! I bet their having a lot of fun and growing lots like I am!! Adios!!

MTC

As soon as we entered the campus for the MTC, Brynns face lit up.  It was a joy to see her get excited about the journey ahead.  Herman Clark Welcomed Brynn To the MTC. She was left in Great Hands!  Hermana Clark said "Now you get to go home and enjoy the Blessings!"  Then hugs and a few tears (or alot in my case) an off she went, and a quiet ride home for us.  There were 841 new missionaries that entered the MTC in Provo that day.  What an ARMY for Jesus Christ.  Love IT!!!
